  • Pray that God will create a spirit of humility and brokenness among the believers. Ask the Lord that Pride and self-sufficiency would be overcome and that we see ourselves as spiritually bankrupt and totally dependent upon God.

Isaiah 57:15 (NIV) 15 For this is what the high and lofty One says-- He who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.

James 4:6 (NIV) 6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

  • Pray that God would grant believers a deeper understanding and awareness of His holiness. The holiness of God is essential to spiritual fervor and revival. Pray that we would be gripped by the holiness of God.

Isaiah 6:1-5 (NIV) 1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were f lying. 3 And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory." 4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. 5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

1 Peter 1:15-16 (NIV) 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

  • Ask God to reveal the sin in believers’ lives, and that we would confess and repent of our sin. Believers must be honest about their sin and must repent and return to God.

Psalm 19:12-14 (NIV) 12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Acts 3:19 (NIV) 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord

  • Ask God to grant believers a hunger for the Word of God and readiness to obey the word of God. Ask God to stir within every believer a desire to search and to know the Word of God. To remove any complacency toward the word of God by the believers. To stir our hearts to become doers of the Word, not just hearers.

Psalm 119:97 (NIV) Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.

Psalm 119:103 (NIV) 103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

1 John 2:3-6 (NIV) 3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4 The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

James 1:22-24 (NIV) 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

  • Ask God to reveal any obstacles that could hinder GC from experiencing the out pouring of God’s Spirit. Then pray for the removal of those obstacles. Pray that God would reveal anything that is not pleasing to Him. Ask God to give us the insight and the power to overcome those obstacles.

Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV) 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

  • Pray for a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit upon your Pastor, that he would share God’s word with power, conviction and with an authority. Ask God that the people of GC would boldly, faithfully and fearlessly proclaim God’s word.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NIV) 1 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV) 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 4:1-4 (NIV) 1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage- with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

  • Ask God to deal with any unforgiveness or bitterness among the body of GC. Pray that our relationships would reflect the heart of the Father. When believers are at odds with one another, that strife needs to be resolved. Pray that the broken relationships among the believers would be healed.

Ephesians 4:30-32 (NIV) 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

  • Pray that God would stir the hearts of GC, that our passion for God will not grow cold. Pray that God’s Spirit will stir all the members of GC and that any indiAerence and apathy will be dealt with and that GC would be a church that pursues the Heart of the Father.

Matthew 7:21-23 (NIV) 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

2 Corinthians 13:5-6 (NIV) 5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test? 6 And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test.

  • Ask God to bring conviction to our lives, and that we would realize that we are accountable to God and to each other. Pray that the people of GC would demonstrate loving accountability to God and to each other.

2 Corinthians 5:9-10 (NIV) 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

  • Pray for a burden for the lost to grip our hearts. Ask God to give us a greater passion for those that have not come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Pray for the expansion of the Kingdom of God and that we would passionately participate in this expansion.

Matthew 18:11 (ASV) 11 For the Son of man came to save that which was lost.

Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

  • Pray that God would stir our love and passion for Jesus, that we would put Him first in all things. Pray that our confession of love for Jesus, would be reflected in our daily life.

1 John 4:1-3 (NIV) 1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

  • Pray that GC is a church that represents the heart of our Heavenly Father to the community around us. Ask God that any unconcern or lack of holiness be dealt with through the forgiveness and grace of God.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 (NIV) 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

  • Ask God to forgive our indiAerence. Pray that we as a church can truly reflect the life and love of Jesus to those around us. Ask God that GC would not compromise the values that we embrace as believers in order to be popular or accepted by the community.

Acts 20:28 (NIV) 28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

  • Ask God for a greater understanding of what His will is for your life and that He would empower you to do it. Pray for a greater sensitivity to what breaks the Heart of the Father, and a greater commitment to do His will and to please Him.

Ephesians 4:30 (NIV) 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

  • Ask for God’s Hand to rest on GC, that the atmosphere of our church and our corporate times together will be charged with faith. That as people of faith, our lives would reflect that faith and that we would be pleasing to God.

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

James 1:5-8 (NIV) 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

  • Pray that the hearts of the people of GC would be full of excitement about the good news of the gospel. It is this message of Jesus, His person and His work that reaches out to sinners. Ask God to fill our hearts with a boldness to proclaim this to those that have yet to know Jesus. This is why we are here, this is the purpose of the Church.

Romans 1:16 (NIV) 16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty." 6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."

  • Ask God to create clean hearts in the people of GC resulting in lifestyles that please Him.

Psalm 51:1-2 (NIV) Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

Nehemiah 8:8-9 (NIV) 8 They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read. 9 Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all, "This day is sacred to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep." For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV) 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw oA everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Revelation 2:17 (NIV) 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

Matthew 6:25-34 (NIV) 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

  • Ask God to release a new spirit of praise in the people of GC, that our worship would be passionate and genuine.

Psalm 150:1-6 (NIV) 1 Praise the LORD. • Ask God to reveal to you anything that takes priority over Him and is thus becoming an idol to you.

Exodus 20:3-6 (ASV) 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me, 6 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

  • Ask God to show you and the people of GC the things of this world that they love more than Him; to repent and then ask for forgiveness.

What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

  • As this is our last day the focus is on God’s will. Ask that in your life and the people of GC that God’s will would take center stage and that His power, His presence and His provision would f low through us to do His will in our lives, our families and our church, that we will impact our community for the Kingdom of God.

Matthew 26:39-41 (NIV) 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. 41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
